Her Story
Walelah — her name means “hummingbird” in Cherokee — and that little bird is the heart of Nectar & Thread. The nectar is the hummingbird. The thread is the craft she learned at her grandmothers' sides, starting at just five years old.
After a career in the classroom, this retired Texas teacher turned her lifelong love of making into a shop of her own: hand-strung beaded bracelets, feather and turquoise earrings, quilted wristlets sewn one at a time, and vintage jewelry she researches piece by piece before it ever reaches a listing.
Her style is boho chic meets country — feathers, turquoise, leather tassels, and natural stones in warm, neutral tones. Every handmade piece is one of a kind or made in small batches, photographed in her lightbox, and packed with a thank-you card before it flies off to its new home.
Crafting since age five — sewing, beading, and making things by hand is quite literally in the family thread.

The Collections
